As a designer Camiel is driven by subjects, situations, systems and rulesets that make him question their origin. Subjects like single-use products, human neglect of their surroundings or outdated laws. New insights should make us progress, stigmas that we experience as standards should be questioned again.
With this in mind, a feel for the finer details of working with tactile materials he combines various analog techniques and digital tools. He finds joy in various crafts such as screen printing, rug tufting and calligraphic lettering. Through this process Camiel aims to create work having his audience rethink everyday life and challenges himself in finding authentic results.
